India welcomes Mohamed bin Zayed’s visit |

Navdeep Suri, Indian Ambassador to the UAE, has praised the exceptional ties between the UAE and India, which have witnessed unprecedented development in the areas of investment and trade relations, among others. India will welcome His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces on 26th January as the chief guest for its Republic Day celebrations, Suri said. In an interview with local Arabic language daily, Al Khaleej newspaper, he said that the Indian government respects and appreciates His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed's wise and balanced vision, which is enshrined in the values of tolerance, stability and moderation. The strategic dialogue between the UAE and India aims at discussing agreements between the two countries and co-operation in the areas of counter-terrorism, trade relations and investment, he said. The UAE is one of the main strategic trade partners for India, besides China and the United States, the Indian envoy added. "There are thousands of Indian investors and companies in the UAE, besides the 2.6 million Indians living in the country," Suri noted. The investments between the two countries are expected to grow in line with the growth of the Indian economy by 7 percent, which is more than the growth rate of any other country in the world. |
