As part of this year's inaugural UAE International Education Week, taking place in Dubai from 18 to 23 October 2017, Dubai International Academic City and BMI Media, the world's leading education event organiser, have announced they will reveal the findings of an in-depth research study that outlines attitudes and priorities of students from around the world considering studying abroad.

The research was conducted as part of DIAC and BMI's partnership, with the objective of better understanding transnational student needs and future employments preferences across a wide selection of developing countries. The survey, which was conducted with over 2,700 students from more than 50 countries, determines the factors that motivates potential students worldwide: where they would like to study; the reasons why; perceived obstacles and more.

Designed to support Dubai's growing reputation as a global education hub, UAE International Education Week aims to attract regional and transnational students to Dubai by providing essential information on how to select the best institution, course and country for higher education.

UAE International Education Week will include a series of workshops, fairs and private meetings such as the Gulf International Schools Workshop, UAE Global Educations Fairs and the BMI Gulf Scholarship Summit. Taking place in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi, these events, which will be held in conjunction will forge valuable connections within the international education world, including scholarship providers, high school representatives and other high ranking officials.

At UAE Global Education Fairs - from 20 to 21 October - students will have the opportunity to meet senior representatives from more than 100 institutions from around the world, showcasing a wide range of courses including high school, languages, undergraduate, postgraduate, masters, business school/MBA, PhD, vocational, hotel management & hospitality, film, art & design computer gaming and design.

Mohammad Abdullah, Managing Director of Dubai International Academic City and Dubai Knowledge Park, said: "We are delighted to partner with BMI as they launch UAE International Education Week, creating an excellent platform for development and collaboration, continuing to attract students to our leading global education hub. We are also excited to be launching our research conducted in collaboration with BMI, which will provide insights on what current day priorities are for students who are considering studying abroad.

"Landscapes are shifting and we are noticing that Dubai is becoming an increasingly popular choice, selected for its accessibility both in terms of geography and affordability. The cost of living compared to major cities like London, Singapore and New York, its safety, and ease of obtaining visas, are main considerations for students who want quality education in a cosmopolitan city, interacting with people from diverse nationalities, cultures, ethnicities and backgrounds."

Samir Zaveri, President & CEO of BMI, added: "We're pleased to be collaborating with DIAC this year as one of our main partners for UAE Education Week, showcasing the findings of our research as part of the programme of events which is tailored towards institutions, academics and students alike.

"BMI Media is renowned for organising the world's leading education events and our events in the region have been very successful due to the tremendous response we have received from students, parents, local education institutions and the media. We hope that by increasing the number of events we offer annually in the region, educational institutions from across the world can share their knowledge and expertise to meet the growing demands of the UAE's education sector."

DIAC and BMI Media are to showcase the findings of their market research study titled, "Transnational Student Mobility and Future Employment Trends" on 18 October.  For further details on the week-long programme, please visit:  www.GlobalEductionFairs.net
