The World’s First And Only BNI (Business Network International) Women’s Chapter Launches In The UAE
Business Network International (BNI) is the world’s largest business networking and business referral organization
The world's first ever women's-only chapter of the global Business Network International (BNI) organisation has been launched here in the UAE.
With over 8,000 chapters worldwide, the BNI has chosen the UAE as the home of its first female chapter to meet the professional needs of the extraordinary number of female business-owners, leaders and professionals in the region.
BNI is the world's largest business networking and business referral organization with 8,000 chapters and 225,000 members globally in 73 countries. Its aim is to help members increase their business through a structured, positive and professional word-of-mouth program that enables them to develop long-term, meaningful relationships with quality business professionals. It does so by providing an environment in which members can share ideas, contacts, networks and most importantly, business referrals with one another. Last year USD$11.2 billion of business was secured between the members worldwide.
Currently, the UAE has 14 chapters and 475 members of BNI, including the newly-launched BNI Evergreen Women's Only chapter headed up by President Katie Steele, a Senior Financial Planner at Guardian Wealth Management.
The chapter has officially been open for nine weeks and already has 34 members including business women from a vast range of industries such as a lawyer, tax specialist, dentist, HR, recruitment, florist, bridal designer, life coach, travel agent and more.
President Katie Steele said of the launch of BNI Evergreen; "The fact that the BNI chose the UAE to launch the world's first women's-only chapter speaks volumes about the calibre of businesswomen in the region from all industries. I feel very honoured to have been asked to help set-up the chapter and lead it in its first year of growth.
"Already it has been invaluable for myself and the members in growing our client bases via meaningful connections within the industry. I personally have taken on-board five new clients in just nine weeks, which has far surpassed any other method of referrals I have used".
The members meet each week to discuss developments, learn about each other's businesses, find referrals and introduce visitors. Ultimately, the chapter will be hosting business networking events throughout the region with the aim of growing the member base to 40 professional women by the end of 2017.
