Landmark Group Reiterates Employee Happiness Through ’Helping Hands’ Initiative

Senior Landmark executives work in retail stores across the UAE to lend a ’Helping Hand’ to store colleagues

Landmark Group, the Middle East’s leading retail and hospitality conglomerate, has introduced the ‘Helping Hands’ initiative – between January 18 and 28 – where the company’s senior leadership visited Landmark outlets across the UAE to lend their retail staff a ‘Helping Hand’ and were assigned with a specific job for the day.

The initiative is part of Landmark Group’s Happiness Movement launched in 2017 impacting 40,000 employees across the GCC and aims to drive overall employee engagement and wellbeing to create a positive and happy working environment.

In an effort to come together as one organisation, Senior leaders were assigned a ‘Retail Buddy’ and spent the day in different stores reporting to the Store Manager as retail frontline staff.

Nisha Jagtiani, Group Director and Chief Happiness Officer, Landmark Group, said: “Through our Happiness Movement, we are aiming to become the region’s happiest workplace by embedding values of togetherness, positivity and a sense of belongingness. ‘Helping Hands’ is an initiative that is very close to our hearts as it is a way to support and connect with our retail colleagues who are the true backbone of the Group.”

The ‘Helping Hands’ initiative was rolled out to all Landmarkers over 10 days. All 40,000 employees from offices, outlets and warehouses were simultaneously engaged irrespective of the country they were based in or the tasks they perform.

Driven by a Happiness team at the Landmark Group headquarters, the Happiness Movement has identified ambassadors across its businesses to drive the initiative being rolled out. The campaign reflects the group’s culture of creating exceptional value for all it’s people which has been integral to its success in the region.
