Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority Organizes Third Happiness Forum

Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA), the regulatory body for Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO), the integrated free zone technology park hosted the third edition of its Happiness Forum.

Held at the Rove Downtown in Dubai, the event convened entities from the public and private sector to discuss initiatives aimed at boosting corporate happiness. Dr Juma Al Matrooshi, Deputy CEO for Operations and Client Affairs, Ghanim Al Falasi, Senior Vice President of Corporate Services, Haidar Ali, Senior Vice President - People Happiness & Innovation, and other senior executives represented DSOA at the forum.

The event drew the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Human Resources & Emiratization, General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), Emirates Transport, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), Drydocks World, Dubai Airport Freezone Authority (DAFZA), DP World, Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), University of Dubai (UD), Community Development Authority, Dubai Economy, American University in the Emirates, and Nakheel. 

Speaking on the forum, Dr Al Matrooshi said: “In line with our commitment to supporting the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to make Dubai the happiest city in the world, we conceptualized the third edition of the Happiness Forum as a platform for collaboration. We firmly believe a dynamic exchange of ideas and best practices in the field is vital to boosting synergies among organizations that will ultimately lead us to achieving our common goal.”

Moderated by motivational speaker and happiness expert Jo-Dee Walmsley, the forum featured two presentations on corporate happiness best practices from Emirates Transport and DP World. Mohammed Al Tamimi, manager of Strategic Planning and Corporate Excellence at Emirates Transport, presented the organization’s initiatives aimed at boosting the happiness of all stakeholders – employees and customers alike. These initiatives include the Emirates Transport Innovation Award, happiness and positivity workshops, as well as letters of gratitude to employees and corporate customers marking their anniversary with Emirates Transport.

For her part, Hamdah Alkassim, Assistant manager – employee engagement & recognition & performance section at DP World, introduced the entity’s corporate happiness campaigns, such as the annual Taqdeer Award that recognizes outstanding employees, DP World Smile Week, International Family Fun Day, Happy Team Award, as well as workshops and friendly competitions.
