Pure Gold Welfare Club Announces Scholarships For Needy Emirati Girl Students

Under the aegis of philanthropist Firoz Merchant, Pure Gold Welfare Club signs scholarship agreement with the University of Fujairah

Firoz Merchant, founder of the Pure Gold Welfare Club signed an agreement with the University of Fujairah to provide scholarships to five needy Emirati female undergraduate students scoring 85 percent and above in each semester.

The scholarship amount for each semester will be decided based on the number of courses registered by each individual student and the amount of tuition fees applicable in the named semester.

The agreement was signed between H.E Saeed bin Mohamed Al Raqabani, Chair of the Board of Trustees from the University of Fujairah and Philanthropist Firoz Merchant, Founder and Chairman of Pure Gold Group.

Firoz Merchant said: “I firmly believe that the future lies in the hands of the young generation of this great country and they will play an integral role in the contribution to its success. This partnership with the University of Fujairah illustrates our commitment in ensuring and providing a great educational experience for students. We thank the University of Fujairahfor providing this platform to support the development of human capital in the UAE.”

The scholarship programme is a fulfilment of the agreement made between MrFiroz Merchant and H.ESaeed Al-Raqbani, Chair of the Board of Trustees for the University of Fujairah last year. The announcement was part of the AED700,000 pledge to support Emirati female students who come from rural areas and cannot afford the expense for completing their 4 - years Bachelors program
