Dubai Chamber Hosts Workshops for Shortlisted Candidates Participating in 3rd Dubai Smartpreneur Competition

The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry recently organised a two-day workshop which provided practical tips and guidance to the top 50 shortlisted candidates participating in the 3rd Dubai Smartpreneur Competition.

The workshops were led by Ahmed Abdulwahab, CEO of Next Arabia FZE, a Dubai-based boutique advisory firm that helps companies develop and implement innovative business models. Training sessions covered sales and marketing strategies, as well as practical tips on creating a winning business plan and pitch.

During the first workshop, Mr. Abdulwahab shared his insights and expertise in building, scaling and presenting business models for growth. He noted that sessions on the second day delved into the key elements that should be included in any business pitch, as well as useful tips for creating a professional business presentation.

Ms. Natalia Sycheva, Manager – Entrepreneurship Strategy at Dubai Chamber, explained that the workshops provided an ideal platform for the shortlisted candidates to learn about best practices, fine tune their business ideas and hone their presentation skills.

“The response to the third edition of the Dubai Smartprenuer Competition has been overwhelming, with so many innovative business ideas submitted which support Dubai’s transformation into a global smart city and innovation hub,” said Ms. Sycheva.

She revealed that more than 300 submissions were received in the current edition of the Dubai Smartpreneur Competition. Entrants were required to submit business ideas that fall under three specific categories – namely Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation.

Submissions will be evaluated by a panel of expert judges who will select the most promising and practical business ideas. The top three winners of the competition will receive a total of AED 150,000 in cash prizes and the chance to participate in other entrepreneurship-focused programmes and initiatives offered by Dubai Startup Hub.

The Dubai Smartpreneur Competition gives startups and entrepreneurs in the UAE an opportunity to become part of the Dubai Government’s Strategy to elevate the city into a global platform for innovation-focused businesses. The competition, organised under Dubai Startup Hub, falls in line with Dubai Chamber’s comprehensive strategy that aims to nurture and develop Dubai’s entrepreneurial eco-system.

Launched as an initiative of Dubai Chamber in 2016, Dubai Startup Hub is an interactive platform that connects startups, entrepreneurs, developers, venture capitalists and students, enabling them to learn about new opportunities and create new partnerships that stimulate economic growth.
