Dubai Sports Council Seeks Means Of Cooperation With Poland

H.E. Mattar Al Tayer receives Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Poland

His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, the Deputy Chairman of Dubai Sports Council, received H.E. Robert Rostek, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland, in the presence of H.E. Saeed Hareb, the Secretary General of DSC.

The meeting sought means of strengthening cooperation between DSC and Poland to boost the sports sector in UAE, conduct mutual visits and arrange meetings between UAE and Polish clubs.

The meeting was also attended by H.E. Nasser Aman Al Rahma, the Assistant Secretary General of DSC, H.E. Mozza Al Marri, a DSC Board Member of DSC, and Sara Al Sayegh, Director of the Communication and Marketing Department in DSC.

The meeting started off with H.E. Mattar Al Tayer conveying the compliments of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of DSC, to the Polish people in general and sports fans in particular.

Al Tayer also referred to the deep–rooted economic and cultural relations between UAE and Poland, part of which is the daily Emirates Airline and Fly Dubai flights from Dubai to Warsaw, and he added that both parties have a good opportunity to enhance bilateral relations in all fields; among which is the sports sector.

He confirmed that UAE gives special consideration to the sports sector, expressing that people in UAE have become aware of the importance of exercising sport as lifestyle.

In this regard, the UAE seeks to boost its cooperation relationship with all countries in the sports field, particularly with countries that give special focus to the sports sector and one of these countries is Poland, which is ranked among the leading sports nations in the world.

The meeting coincides with UAE's celebrations of the "Year of Zayed", marking 100 years since the birth of the Late Father Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al-Nahyan, the Founder of the UAE. The meeting also corresponds to the Poland's celebrations on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Independence Day.

H.E. the Polish Ambassador talked about the efforts of his country to develop the sports sector and reviewed means of cooperation between Poland and the UAE in several sports fields, referring to the importance of the exchange of visits, camps and experiences between the two parties.

The Polish Ambassador invited Al Tayer and a DSC delegation to visit Poland in order to be acquainted with the notable developments in sports facilities and the successful organizing of various competitions, and to meet with Polish official sportspersons to seek means of cooperation in the sports fields.

Al Tayer emphasised DSC's keenness to boost bilateral cooperation and said they will be looking forward to attaining common goals to enhance the sports sector.

It is worth mentioning that Dubai is scheduled to host the inaugural 500 Super Final Handball this December, where reigning Polish champion club PGE Vive Kielce will take on nine-time Champions League winner FC Barcelona Lassa at the Hamdan Sports Complex.
