AMAF Donates AED850,000 To Dubai Health Sector

As part of its special initiative "Shifa’a" (Healing), in line with its calendar of activities for the Year of Zayed, the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation, AMAF, has donated AED400,000 to the Ministry of Health and Prevention and AED450,000 to the Dubai Health Authority.

With this donation, the Ministry of Health and Prevention will purchase advanced medical equipment to serve a wide range of patient needs, especially in diagnosis and radiography, whereas Dubai Health Authority will allocate the amount for its Cancer Patient Fund, which helps financially troubled patients to cover their cancer treatment costs.

Regarding the donations, Ali Al Mutawa, Secretary General of AMAF, said, "AMAF’s contribution to preserving the health and well-being of individuals and society is aligned with our mission to consolidate the goals of takaful waqf for the benefit of wider segments of society. It also conforms to one of the key pillars of Dubai Plan 2021, which seeks to drive economic and social development within a healthy and sustainable environment that offers outstanding health services."

Al Mutawa reiterated the importance of cooperation among various institutions towards improving patient healthcare and ensuring accessibility, in keeping with the legacy of the Founding Father of the UAE, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Commending the achievements of the Ministry of Health and Prevention and the Dubai Health Authority in raising the quality of healthcare and associated services, he said this commitment to excellence has helped the UAE rank high in happiness and human development, and contributed to the establishment of a secure society.
