Mohammed issues two Federal Government appointments

The UAE Scientists Council will launch programmes for developing a generation of researchers, scientists and academicians. It will comprise prominent researches, academicians and specialists with the aim of conducting periodic review, as well as higher national policy for sciences, technology and innovation besides presenting scientific and knowledge advice to decision makers.

Sara Amiri worked previously on building the operational and technical capabilities at Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre.

Holding a BSc and Masters degree in computer engineering from the American University in Sharjah, Sara began her career at the centre, where she worked as programmes engineer on Dubai Sat 1 and Dubai Sat 2.

Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has also directed appointing Abdullah Mohammed Al Basti Al Marri as secretary-general for the cabinet.

Abdullah Al Basti has an experience of more than 23 years in government sector.

Before joining the Cabinet as its Secretary General, Mr Al Marri served as the director general of the executive office of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid. He held the position of executive director for the Government Development Office at the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs. He oversaw the launch of the UAE programme for government service.

He began his career in the Armed Forces in which he served for more than 11 years. He holds a master’s degree in quality management from the University of Wollongong in Dubai and a bachelor’s degree in information systems programming from the University of Dubai. He is a graduate of the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Programme for Leadership Development.
