Dubai’s RTA Launches Inspire Us With A Shot Contest To Expose The Charm Of Marine Transport |

The contest is run in coordination with Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography AwardDubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) launched the inaugural edition of ‘Inspire with a Shot’ contest, in collaboration with the Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award (HIPA). The contest encourages community members to send over best shots taken of marine transport means in Dubai. Participation in the contest is open for all riders and visitors of facilities related to marine transport in Dubai up to May 26, 2019. “RTA provides the community with a variety of transport options including marine transit modes. We believe that innovative photographers can take stunning photographs of our marine transport means, strengthening the visual presence of UAE’s transport options. Photographers will be able to capture beautiful moments along the waterways featuring both the traditional and modern landscapes. The photography contest entails themes which will no doubt generate awe-inspiring submissions which each will have a unique story to tell,” said HE Ali bin Thalith, Secretary General of the Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award. “Submissions to ‘Inspire us with a Shot’ Contest open today (May 13) and continue until May 26, 2019. Contestants can send their submissions via the hashtag (#RTAxHIPA). The core objective of the contest is to promote mobility and entertainment characterising RTA’s marine transit means,” said Rowdah Al Mehrizi, Director of Marketing & Corporate Communication at RTA’s Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector. Contestants should be above 18 years, and images must be restricted to water transit means (ferry, waterbus, and water taxi in addition to traditional, air-conditioned and hybrid abras). Moreover, the photographs submitted must be of high-definition in JPEG format with not be less than 5MB; longest side must not be less than 2000 pixels and the display quality not less than 300 dpi. Images must be fit for publishing and serve the promotional goals set. They must be free from logos, signatures or offensive symbols. The winner will be awarded a cash prize of AED10, 000, the first runner-up will receive AED3,000, while the second runner-up will receive AED2,000. RTA shall be entitled to use the submitted photos. Submissions will be assessed by HIPA jury panel to ensure fairness, transparency, innovation and beauty befitting the high global profile of the award. Dubai has picturesque beaches with a scenic urban backdrop that can inspire the visual interaction of residents and visitors with the marine transit modes; which can be expressed in awe-inspiring and captivating images. |
