EAD Signs MoU With Abu Dhabi University


Cooperation in Developing a BSc and MSc in Environmental Science










The Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Abu Dhabi University (ADU) to promote cooperation in scientific research and capacity building. The MoU was signed by H.E Majid Al Mansouri, Secretary General of EAD and H.E Ali Saeed bin Harmel Al Dhaheri, Chairman of ADU Executive Board. Cooperation between the two parties will involve collaboration on projects of mutual interest that include join research programmes, training programmes, and the exchange of data and reports. Moreover, the two parties will work together to develop a BSc and MSc programme in Environmental Science. Both EAD and ADU will cooperate in the development and implementation of the Abu Dhabi Global Environmental Data Initiative, which was launched by Abu Dhabi Government in 2002. Additionally, under the MoU whose term is four years, Abu Dhabi University students will be able to conduct internships at EAD and the two parties will jointly organize scientific conferences, workshops and seminars focusing on the latest scientific developments related to areas of mutual interest as well as promote environmental awareness within the two parties or to the community. The two parties will also work together on developing UAE national manpower through supporting of the Postgraduate Programmes offered by ADU, in relation to related fields of interest.
