ADNH’s Italian-Themed Resort And Spa On Schedule To Open Mid-2010

Abu Dhabi National Hotels (ADNH) announced that construction of the ADNH Resort and Spa to be operated by Marriott International in Abu Dhabi is well on track with the luxury development set to open by the middle of next year. “ADNH is proud to announce that all of our developments are going ahead as planned and are due to meet their original completion dates. We are very keen to complete the construction of this iconic resort and spa in time for its opening in 2010. With its unique architecture and design, the resort will be an unrivalled attraction in Abu Dhabi and the UAE, and we expect the project to be a key addition to the expanding hospitality sector in Abu Dhabi,” said His Excellency Saif Mohammed Al Hajeri, Chairman of ADNH. The resort will mark JW Marriott’s entry as an operator in Abu Dhabi, which is located fronting the water canal between the Two Bridges, opposite the Grand Mosque. The construction of the resort, which commenced in November 2007, is to be completed by mid 2010. Landscaping and construction of it’s water canals will commence within the next three months. “Over 50 per cent of concrete work, including four of the 10 hotel buildings at the centre of the resort and 55 of the 85 villas are now in the finishing phase. We expect all concrete works to be completed by August,” said Richard Riley, Chief Executive Officer of ADNH. “The resort is rapidly taking shape and is already visible from the Maqta and Mussafah Bridges,” he added. The resort will have 595 keys comprising 500 rooms and suites, 85 one and two bedroom villas and 10 over-water villas with their own private marina and parking area. Spread over a 210,000 sq meter complex, the Venetian-themed resort features a vast water lagoon stretching from the resort’s entrance, surrounds the main buildings and exits towards the sea. The resort will feature interconnected towers, villas with views over water, state-of-the-art facilities and underground parking.
