Sharjah International Children’s Film Festival To Take Centre Stage With Inspirational Activities And Workshops |

Get ready to discover and explore a magical journey of media and creative artsIt’s that time of year again! The fourth edition of the Sharjah International Children’s Film Festival which will run from Oct 23 to 28 will commence with a colorful start. With a fantastic crop of films and premieres, enchanting sneak previews, workshops and forums, family-friendly performances, and some cracking creative activities, SICFF will provide a flavor of international arts and culture this year too. The activities are all taking place at the Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Center (JRCC) under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs. Sheikha Jawaher bint Abdullah Al Qasimi, Director of FUNN and Director of the Sharjah International Children’s Film Festival said, "SICFF will entertains thousands of children by offering them a unique opportunity to experience some of best activities right here at home. The number of training workshops and diverse educational activities are designed to support young talents in various areas of media and creative arts." SICFF was established to promote the film industry both locally and internationally, and to bring all the industry stakeholders together in a more focused and structured environment to promote budding talent in the region. Some of the activities planned for this year includes a plethora of events. Films This year's festival will host a dazzling film journey. Much-loved selections for shorts, features and documentaries will be showcased at the film festival. The idea is to create visibility of movies and encourage the youth to demonstrate their creative skills into filmmaking. Photobooth and Creative Spaces This year's specially-programmed festival will feature the work of renowned artists. With video, drawings, paintings and prints, the festival will features contemplative responses to media and creative arts. During the festival, special spaces and photo booths will be allocated for visitors to take selfies and capture their emotions, identifying what home[H1] is to each of them through the medium of a minute-long film. Workshops and Forums A range of creative workshops inspired by the festival's films and artworks have been planned this year. From animation, stop motion, 3D scenes form Game of Thrones, pixilation, back-stage essentials to mobile filmmaking, film enthusiasts will get an opportunity to participate in varied workshops designed to foster imaginative play. Experts with broad knowledge and experience of the film industry will conduct trainings and make keynote addresses on identified topics. Games and Activities Several games and activities are also part of the side-line fun at SICFF. The interactive games include magic shows, comedy performances, etc. to engage participants and enhance their experience during the week-long festival. Awards and Accolades The week-long of festival related activities will climax with an Awards Gala night where prizes shall be given out to Best categories of films. In addition to the above a special workshop for children with special needs and films that were not selected at the film festival will be held. Celebrating international diversity with a fantastic line-up of workshops and activities, SICFF aims to transform Sharjah and the UAE into an action-packed cultural adventure, which will entertain as much as it educates.
