On Its 10th Anniversary, Aldar Academies Promises Education Excellence For More In Abu Dhabi

The leading private education provider has announced its expansion plans in support of Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030

Aldar Academies, one of Abu Dhabi's leading private education providers, marked its tenth anniversary celebrations by announcing plans to bring outstanding education to more families in the emirate.

The home-grown Emirati organisation confirmed its expansion plans into the next decade, starting with the opening of their first nursery in the next few months. The organisation has also announced its intention to open more affordable schools by the end of 2019, alongside the establishment of Aldar Education, a parent company which will lead their education network's evolution.  Most recently in September 2017, Aldar Academies took over the operations of four ADNOC Schools across the Al Dhafra Region and Abu Dhabi, propelling them to become one of the largest education providers in the emirate.

Aldar Academies' expansion underscores its commitment to supporting the educational goals of Abu Dhabi's Economic Vision 2030 plan, which seeks to create a knowledge-based economy for the emirate. Aldar Academies' leadership during the past ten years, and its plans for the future, play a pivotal role in preparing the UAE's next generation to shape the future.

With an exciting future ahead for Aldar Academies and its students, the organisation has been looking back during its ten year celebrations in order to move forward.

"During our ten years of excellence, I'm proud to say that Aldar Academies has made a lasting contribution to Abu Dhabi's emergence as one of the very best destinations in the world for education," commented Nilay Ozral, Aldar Academies CEO. "This progress is thanks to the commitment of our magnificent teaching team, our passion in finding the most effective ways to teach, and our investments in the most advanced education facilities available. This commitment has allowed our students to thrive, which is precisely what we are aiming for from our next ten years and beyond" added Ms Ozral.

The success of Aldar Academies and its students during the past ten years demonstrates the remarkable rise of Abu Dhabi's education sector. Some of the education provider's most recent milestones in this respect include:

2015 – 2016:  Out of over 187 private schools in Abu Dhabi, only five schools were rated as 'Outstanding' by the Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK), three of these are Aldar Academies schools: Al Bateen Academy, Al Muna Academy, and Al Mushrif School (incorporated with Al Mamoura Academy in 2016).
2007 to date:  Aldar Academies' post-16 students have earned places at many world class universities, including the University of Oxford, University of Cambridge, UCLA, King's College London, University of British Columbia, and many more.
June 2017: Aldar Academies' Al Yasmina Academy ranked higher than Singapore in the TIMSS global education rankings, and were number one in Abu Dhabi and number four in the UAE.
July 2017: Aldar Academies' Al Bateen Academy celebrated its students' smashing the world average International Baccalaureate Diploma results for the second year, achieving 32.3 points versus the world average of 30. In 2016, students scored an average of 32.4 points versus the global average of 29.6 points.
September 2017:  ADEK announces that schools who have maintained their high inspection rankings would be exempted from the next round of inspections.  The only two schools in Abu Dhabi who have been exempted are Aldar Academies' schools: Al Yasmina Academy and The Pearl Academy.

The Aldar Academies story began back in 2007 with The Pearl School and 247 students.  Today, the school continues to be recognised for delivering exemplary education to its students by being awarded "Outstanding" by the British Schools Overseas inspection team in June 2017.

Since 2007, Aldar Academies has invested over AED 1 billion in education and grown to incorporate seven academies, over 6,500 students and close to 1,000 employees. In addition, a further 7,000 students and 1,000 employees recently joined the Aldar Academies community following the agreement to manage and operate ADNOC Schools.

During this time, the organisation has also expanded its learning options to include the English National Curriculum, American Massachusetts State Curriculum, and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. Aldar Academies also recently launched its own 'Academy of Excellence', which aims to support the organisation's exceptionally talented students to fulfil their potential and reach the next level of academic excellence – propelling them towards the world's leading universities.
