Abu Dhabi University Concludes Open Week For 2017-2018 Academic Year

Abu Dhabi University (ADU), an internationally recognized academic institution for quality education and applied research, concluded its Open Week for the Spring semester of the 2017-2018 academic year across its three campuses in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Dubai that drew the participation of high school students representing 60 schools in the country.

Offering the students an opportunity to learn more about university life and the benefits of studying at ADU, the Open Week packed an agenda of seminars and workshops, providing a preview of ADU's academic programs. These include the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs offered via ADU's College of Law, College of Arts and Sciences, College of Engineering, and College of Business. In addition, ADU's Open Week included campus tours to highlight the advanced educational facilities including ADU's libraries, media laboratories, and scientific labs that students can benefit from at the University.

Speaking on the occasion, Laila Kroma, Senior Manager of Admissions, Enrollment, and International Relations Department at ADU, said: "Every year, an increasing number of students participate in ADU's Open Week events, and this speaks volumes of the quality of education offered by the University. It reinforces ADU's position as one of the most prestigious higher education institutions in the region with its dedication to innovation and excellence in teaching, scientific research and community service, as well as its portfolio of diverse and internationally benchmarked programs that prepare graduates who will help shape the national development process in line with the policy agenda of Abu Dhabi's Government and the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030."

Kroma added: "Open Week is an opportunity for students to get informed about the University's curriculum spanning diverse academic majors and shortlist their choices for the upcoming academic year. The event also enables staff and faculty to meet prospective students and answer any queries they may have regarding ADU's value-added initiatives such as the student exchange program, cultural program, and student affairs.

"Open Week paves the way for high school students to gain first-hand insights about the University and its requirements. As is the norm today with universities globally, ADU hosts Open Week to support students to smoothly make the transition from school life to university life and advise them on the best ways to achieve academic excellence in the new environment."
