Organised by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) and open on Abu Dhabi Corniche from 22 - 31 March 2018, Mother of the Nation Festival will once again host the MOTN Pavilion, a platform that reflects the role of women in fostering the country’s development.
A key element and exhibition of the festival, the Mother of the Nation Pavilion explores the impact of these women throughout history and celebrates the past, present and future generations of Emirati women who have participated in the UAE’s progress as mothers, wives, sisters and daughters. Highlighting Emirati women’s historical achievements, the pavilion narrates the pioneering efforts of Emirati women following in the footsteps of H.H. Sheikha Fatima.
Upon entering the Pavilion, visitors are greeted with an Introduction to the space with a poem by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, celebrating the the ‘Year of Zayed’ and marking the 100 years since the birth of the founder of the Nation. Today we remember his role in promoting the position of women in the UAE and his role in preserving the culture and heritage of this country. The poem that will be exhibited was written by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in the traditional nabati style and was dedicated to Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak.
