Hefty Fines For Not Stopping For School Buses











Abu Dhabi Police have confirmed their readiness to enhance the traffic safety for students at the beginning of the third semester.

Brigadier Khalifa Mohammed Al-Khaili, Director of Traffic and Patrols Department in the Central Operations Sector, called upon school bus drivers to adhere to traffic laws.

He also urged them to use the stop sign on the buses in the case of boarding and disembarking students.

Motorists have been warned of hefty fines and urged not to violate traffic laws and must stop when they see the stop sign arm in use on school buses.

School bus drivers who violate this law will be fined Dhs500, along with 6 black points.

According to the UAE Traffic Law, Article (91) motorists will be fined Dhs1,000 along with 10 black points.

Al-Khaili explained that the law requires motorists to stand in case the stop sign appears on the side of the bus.

He pointed out that police patrols and civilian will intensify the supervision of all roads around schools.

The move is to provide safe school transport and prevent traffic accidents.
