Aldar Signs Agreement For Retail And School Plot In Alghadeer |

LuLu supermarket, retail outlets, community clinic and British curriculum school to open in 2020Aldar Properties PJSC ('Aldar') is pleased to announce it has sold two plots of land in Alghadeer for community services, demonstrating momentum in its newly launched master planned development. The contracts will see British curriculum Alghadeer International School and retail outlets including LuLu supermarket and a community clinic open in Alghadeer in 2021 in line with handovers of the first new community to customers. Commenting on the plot sales, Talal Al Dhiyebi, Chief Executive Officer, Aldar said, "The addition of Alghadeer International School, retail outlets, LuLu supermarket and clinic will increase the range of convenience-driven amenities and facilities for existing and future residents at Alghadeer, creating more complete neighbourhoods. Developing this community shows the momentum in the Alghadeer development and is in line with our strategy to deliver desirable destinations and provide residents with a truly enriched community living experience focused on comfort, accessibility and convenience." Perfectly situated at an exemplary location in Abu Dhabi, close to Dubai Expo 2020 site, Alghadeer's new masterplan comprises of 14,408 home including villas, townhouses, and maisonettes. Total residential GFA is set to exceed 1.3 million sqm and will be complemented by office space, retail space, hospitality, education and community amenities. The new Alghadeer masterplan incorporates Aldar's existing community of the same name which boasts over 2,000 homes and is a thriving destination for many families. The retail amenities will have a GFA of more than 30,000 square metres and will include a range of outlets as well as a community clinic. The LuLu supermarket, with a GFA of 5,000 square metres, will primarily focus on grocery and supermarket products, with a product range that is specifically targeted at Alghadeer's diverse population. The supermarket, retail outlets and clinic will be operational in 2021. Occupying 38,809 square metres of space with a GFA of 18,485 square metres, Alghadeer International School is a British curriculum private school, set to offer places for 1,500 students from FS1 to Grade 12 as well as a nursery offering early childhood education. The school is to be operational from September 2020. The school, retail outlets, supermarket and clinic will be easily accessible to all residents from its location in the heart of the existing Alghadeer development.
