Abu Dhabi Rehabilitation Centre Recognised For Its Special Needs Programmes

The Future Rehabilitation Centre, which provides education and therapy-based programmes to students with special needs through individualised education plans, yesterday (Tuesday) launched its latest course, 'Strengthening of Adulthood/Vocational Training Programme.' The course is part of the Centre's Preparing for Adulthood programmes from the Award Scheme and Development Accreditation Network (ASDAN).

In a special ceremony held at the palace of Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance, who is also the Centre's Honourary President, ASDAN’s International Development Manager, Karen Hudspith, awarded the Centre with a certificate of recognition in acknowledgment of its continued efforts in following ASDAN's standards since adopting their 'Preparing for Adulthood' programmes in 2015. Sheikh Nahyan accepted the certificate on behalf of the Centre. Future Rehabilitation is the first ASDAN Centre in Abu Dhabi.

The ceremony also saw the signing of a 'Unified Declaration of Community Support' by the Centre's stakeholders including HSBC Middle East, Commercial Bank of Dubai, SERCO Middle East, Jotun Abu Dhabi and Yas Viceroy Hotel. The signing of the declaration symbolises the Future Rehabilitation Centre’s goal of motivating its stakeholders into merging their efforts and initiatives towards providing young 'People of Determination' (people with special needs) with better training in preparation for adulthood and future vocation.

The event attendees included the Centre's Board Chairman Mohammed Abdul Jalil Al Fahim, Jordanian Ambassador to the UAE Juma Abdullah Al Abadi, UK Deputy Ambassador Stephanie Al Qaq, and members of the Board of Trustees.
