He further added the initiative aims at ensuring the highest level of food safety in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, providing all members of society with safe and healthy food, protect the society from food-borne diseases, maximize ADFCA's role in serving the public, and promote the human development values of the late Sheikh Zayed.

"The initiative targets housewives, productive families, and housemaids to introduce them to the best practices regarding the last thing in the food chain. They will be trained on the basics of food safety, to raise their awareness of the importance of safe handling of food and dangers of wrongful food practices. The initiative will enrich their food safety-related skills, to ensure food safety along the entire food chain," said Al Qasemi.

Through its close partnerships with the private sector, Al Qasemi stressed that ADFCA is currently holding training workshops for food facilities' workers in its licensed and accredited training centers.

"After the success of the authority's experience in training of more than 270,000 of food handlers, ADFCA is coordinating constantly with institutes and training centers to offer training courses to all housewives and families willing to send their housemaids to take a training course on food safety. The authority is working on providing a specialized training course in several languages, supported by pictures, to facilitate the process of delivering the information to all trainees with different nationalities and cultures," added Al Qasemi.

Al Qasemi noted that the initiative reflects the values of social responsibility in transferring knowledge from the authority to the world, adding that its effects are not only limited to UAE families, but also it extends to many parts of the world as housemaids are ambassadors in transferring the sound food practices to their countries.
