Over 100,000 Ramadan Packages touch hearts of many across Nation through Emirates Foundation











Over 100,000 Ramadan Packages have been distributed during the Holy Month of Ramadan through the tireless efforts and dedication of over 1,500 Emirates Foundation Takatof volunteers who lead Al Dunia B’Khair’ Ramadan campaign 2018.

‘Al Dunia B’Khair’ Ramadan campaign, organised by Emirates Foundation, the national organisation set up by the Abu Dhabi Government to facilitate public-private funded initiatives for the empowerment of youth across the UAE, is a nationwide initiative, launched by the Foundation’s Takatof programme during Ramadan to promote a culture of volunteerism and empower Emirati Youth to engage in community development and support.

Supported by the Foundation’s partners, the campaign engaged over 1,500 Takatof volunteers from across the UAE exceeding the target of 10,000 volunteer hours.

Commenting on the success of this year’s Ramadan campaign Maytha Al Habsi, CEO at Emirates Foundation, said, "We are so proud of the ‘Al Dunia B’khair’ campaign which reflects the volunteerism spirit of our youth across the UAE who participated in overwhelming numbers. It exceeded our targets not just in numbers and volunteering hours but in the tireless efforts, commitment and unconditional service offered and demonstrated by all our volunteers across the different Emirates. They fully embraced their service mission and truly made it count with an open heart towards promoting the humane values and beliefs of our Founding Father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and his vision for a culture of volunteerism across the UAE."

As part of the Takatof Ramadan activities, Emirates Foundation further engaged volunteers from across the UAE in the ‘Children’s Wishes Project’, where they organised special events for less advantaged children. The project took place in different locations across the UAE during the last two weeks of Ramadan and filled children across communities with the giving and joyful spirit of Ramadan.

Emirates Foundation Youth also organised ‘Hefz Al Neama’ project also took place in Al Ain and Al Fujairah during the Holy Month, through which volunteers in collaboration with hotels and restaurants, organised for leftover meals to be distributed to less advantaged families and labor.

Commemorating the memory of the passing of His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan on the 19th of Ramadan, Emirates Foundation ‘Shababna leaders’ implemented ‘Zayed humanitarian Action’, a special project under the Takatof Ramadan Umbrella where volunteers from the across the UAE distributed Iftar meals to workers.

Since 2007, the Takatof programme has organised Ramadan campaigns in an effort to instill a sense of civic engagement and responsibility amongst youth and provide its volunteers the opportunity to support community needs while developing their personal and leadership skills in the process.

Inspired by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Takatof fosters a culture of volunteering throughout the United Arab Emirates.

Launched in 2007, it offers the nation’s youth meaningful opportunities to volunteer for important social causes and encourages engagement in public service. Takatof members are ambassadors of the culture of volunteering and they represent the culture of social solidarity, support and giving and embody the noble values of the Emirate people.
