Al Qattara Arts Centre To Celebrate Community Artists In Upcoming Summer Exhibition

Organised by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, DCT Abu Dhabi, Al Qattara Arts Centre will present a summer exhibition showcasing works by students of the centre as well as UAE-based community artists from 25th June until 25th September, 2018. Exploring a wide range of mediums and artistic expressions, the exhibition will display the creative abilities of all aspiring and emerging artists in the UAE.

Showcasing the wealth of national artistic talent, the summer exhibition will also highlight the nuances of each different artist as they capture their perceptions of community, society and the world. The exhibition will feature 28 works by 23 artists, including well known Dubai-based visual artist Noumier Tawilah, and Emirati famous caricaturist and cartoonist Khaled Al Jaberi, who is known for his social and political cartoons in local Arabic newspapers and his children’s book Youmeyat Moshagheb.

Al Qattara Arts Centre opened to the public in 2011 to give the community a platform where everyone could engage in arts and culture in Al Ain. For the past seven years, the centre has been an integral addition to the arts and culture scene in Al Ain, exhibiting the wide range of artistic national and locally-based talent through its ongoing year-long public programme offering exhibitions, activities and arts workshops.
