Image Nation Abu Dhabi, one of the leading media and entertainment companies in the Middle East, has been recognised for its Outstanding Contribution to Regional Media by Capital Finance International (CFI) for the second time. The judges’ panel commended Image Nation for its ongoing initiatives to shape the region’s emerging film and TV industries by nurturing talent, contributing to economic development and producing high-quality, creative local projects. "Image Nation has built its reputation on breaking boundaries and unleashing imagination through our sustained track record of award-winning films, TV programmes, documentaries and entertainment success," said Michael Garin, Chief Executive Officer, Image Nation. In awarding Image Nation this recognition, judges highlighted the significance of Image Nation’s expansion into the growing Saudi Arabian market. Earlier this year, it was announced that Image Nation would partner with O3 Productions, the drama and film production arm of MBC Group, to co-finance and co-produce a slate of at least four Saudi feature films for local, regional and international audiences. The critical and commercial success of Image Nation’s projects was praised by the judges, particularly the success of its landmark 18-part legal drama series Justice, which brought local talent together with leading Hollywood producers and screenwriters. The award also recognises Image Nation’s commitment to supporting local and regional talent and promoting careers in the entertainment industry for UAE youth. The company devotes its expertise to industry training initiatives, with ongoing internship opportunities and its renowned Arab Film Studio (AFS) programme, now in its sixth year. Since its launch in 2012, the program has seen its films selected by more than 200 international film festivals, with AFS participants picking up numerous awards and accolades along the way. CFI previously presented Image Nation with the award for Outstanding Contribution to Regional Media in 2016. |
