Abu Dhabi’s Tourism Industry Heads To Paris As France Climbs Emirate’s Hotel Guest Rankings

An Abu Dhabi tourism industry delegation, led by the emirate’s tourism authority, is to head to Paris next month (September) to build further destination awareness throughout France, which in the first six months of this year produced almost 21,000 hotel guests for Abu Dhabi’s hotels.

The delegation, which will include Aldar, one of Abu Dhabi’s leading developers, the award-winning Anantara Group which operates the Desert Islands Resort & Spa, and DBA & Sons, will be part of a 160 square metre Abu Dhabi pavilion at the IFTM-Top Resa travel show which runs in Paris from September 22-25.

“This is perhaps the most important B2B travel event in France, a market which last year produced 36,715 guests for hotels throughout Abu Dhabi emirate. French results for the first six months of this year is well on track to sustain, if not surpass, last year’s performance,” explained Mubarak Al Nuaimi, International Promotions Manager, Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority, which is spearheading the pavilion. “France is currently lying sixth in importance on Abu Dhabi’s hotel guest market ranking – a jump of one place on its seventh place standing for the whole of last year.

“Abu Dhabi has expanding relations with the Republic of France across a variety of cultural, industrial and defence fields with an increasing number of French personnel expected to relocate to the emirate for work. We would like to build on this opportunity to increase awareness of our accommodation and attractions among the French travel trade and its travelling public as an increase in visiting friends and family traffic from the republic can be realistically expected.”
