Al Noman: ATM offers a great opportunity to present Sharjah from a global perspective

The Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority is set to put up a strong show once again at the Arabian Travel Market, the region’s most prestigious travel and tourism networking summit that opens today (April 30, Monday) in Dubai for the 15th year.

“The ATM offers a great opportunity to highlight Sharjah from a global perspective,” said SCTDA Chairman HE Mohamed Ali Al Noman. “This helps our strategy to promote the booming tourism sector in the emirate, its great tourist attractions, numerous upcoming tourism projects and services before an international audience and a diverse, global market that is growing by leaps and bounds,“ he added.

Al Noman pointed out that as part of Sharjah’s strategy to reach out to new and emerging tourism markets around the world, the Authority has been showcasing the emirate’s tourist attractions and investment opportunities at international exhibitions and events like the ITB, Berlin, MITT, Moscow and WTM, London. “Our persistent efforts are paying off with the emirate attracting more and more international travellers from around the world,” emphasised the Chairman.

He said that the ATM presents a very good platform to promote and market a wide range of tourism products, projects and services highlighting the special place enjoyed by the emirate of Sharjah on the world tourism map, especially in cultural tourism.

"The ATM Dubai brings together a large number of decision makers, specialists and professionals in the travel and tourism industry from around the world helping all participants exchange experiences, expertise and ideas. It also presents great opportunities for investments and economic growth. This is why the SCTDA has always been passionately involved and taken part in the ATM, exploiting the immense potential of the tourism event," said the SCTDA Chairman.

“I am confident that the participation of Sharjah once again will contribute significantly to tourism growth and help us expand the horizon of cooperation and partnership with other stakeholders in the tourism sector," he added.

The Sharjah delegation to ATM includes senior officials of the SCTDA, Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), Sharjah Airport Authority, Ramada Sharjah, Sharjah National Hotels (Marbella Resort/Oceanic Hotel and Resort Khorfakkan/Hotel Holiday International), Golden Tulip Sharjah, Radisson Blu Resort, Sharjah Museums Department, Sharjah Media Centre, Al Hamrah Group (Al Hamrah Hotel, Al Sharq Hotel and Al Sharq Suites), Al Khalidiah Tourism, Royal Beach Resort and Spa and Constemp Travel Club etc.
