World’s Only Magic Show On Ice Heads For UAE Capital
’Magic On Ice’ - the world’s first and only magic show on ice is on its way to Abu Dhabi for its Middle East debut.
Fourteen performances of hugely successful Steve Wheeler Production from the USA is to run at the ice-rink at Zayed Sports City in the UAE capital as a headline act in its six weeks Summer in Abu Dhabi family carnival.
Coming direct from the USA, the 70-minute extravaganza will run daily from 8pm from August 1 - 15 with the exception of August 9.
"This show takes the audience into the mystifying world of the grand illusion," said Faisal Al Sheikh, Events Section Head, Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA), which is presenting Summer in Abu Dhabi. "It will feature the original, award-winning production combining the elegance and beauty of world-class figure skating, the baffling intrigue of grand illusion and the artistry of the performing arts."
A 16-strong star-studded cast will deliver the calibre of performance that led the New York Post to describe the show as ’Superb & Bewildering.’ Produced by Steve Wheeler, renowned as the world’s premier ice-skating illusionist, the show has won worldwide acclaim for its innovative illusion design and unique performance art.
"This is the chance to see the creativity of a master magician at work," said Al Sheikh. "Steve Wheeler began performing magic at the age of 10 and by the age of 14 he had received top honours from the Society of American Magicians."
Meanwhile, the main focus of Summer in Abu Dhabi takes place in seven, fully air-conditioned halls at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre from July 1 - August 15. Packed full of rides, adventures and entertainment, the carnival will run on weekdays from 2pm until 10pm and from 2pm until 12am on Fridays and Saturdays. Tickets are available at the door.
