University Hospital Sharjah invests AED 500,000 to offer Optimal Female Wellness solutions

In an endeavour to provide Aesthetic Female Wellness services, University Hospital Sharjah (UHS) has introduced its new service bringing aesthetic comfort to women generally post Obstetrics and Gynaecology Surgery. The treatment will be offered as a minimally-invasive Laser solution that will provide optimal care for various feminine needs and comfort. Valued at AED half a million, the new solution forms a sought-after service as a part of Aesthetic Gynaecology.

“Most often Surgical solutions to female wellness can lead to several side effects as caring, nerve damage, excessive bleeding and incontinence. With the introduction of this new solution, women in the UAE will have easy access to safe and non-surgical treatments, which will help to ease feminine concerns,” said Dr Kauser Mansoor Baig, UHS’s Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist.

Life processes such as childbirth, weight fluctuations and hormonal changes may overstretch and damage female genital tissues, the pelvic floor and alter the mucosal tone of the genital wall. These physiological changes can lead to conditions as dryness and recurring infections which can negatively affect a woman's quality of life and self-confidence. In addition, Stress Urinary Incontinence (SUI) is an extremely common and distressing condition that affects a high percentage of women, with prevalence rates increasing with age. According to the American Urological Association, there is an estimated prevalence for urinary incontinence of 30 percent in women aged 30 to 60 years, with approximately half of the cases attributed to SUI (15 percent). SUI involves involuntary leakage of urine in response to increased intra-abdominal pressure. As such, most women opt for surgeries. However, a surgery can have several potential side effects which can be fatal if not treated in time.

“While a surgery can tighten and tone sagging, it can be painful and risky. As such it is recommended to opt for treatments that are pain-free and can stabilise the genital areas, restoring its strength and flexibility,” added Dr Kauser Baig.

With the new introduced solution at UHS, women can eliminate discomfort that is caused when tissues are chafed or irritated and return to normal activities immediately. While it can avoid the possible problems related to feminine wellness and can correct various conditions such as prolapse or bladder weakness and is one of the most effective way to overcome physical post-effects of having children.  The procedure is not only safe, but also pain free.

“The newly launched service at UHS is not just a latest treatment in modality, but also offers fast homogeneous treatment, which is safe, easy and effective. Showcasing immediate results, the new solution is a minimal-invasive procedure offering excellent outcomes, suitable for almost all women,” concluded Dr Kauser Baig.

The new solution at UHS is a non-surgical procedure which is relatively less expensive, faster comfort and uses radiofrequency energy to gently apply controlled heat to the female intimate tissues. The heat works to shrink tissues and stimulate collagen production which can then help treat a wide range of problems including lack of bladder weakness and dryness. In addition, the radiofrequency energy is applied via a slim wand which offers no risk of burns or damage to the intimate tissues.

With the introduction of the new service, UHS aims to offer patients efficacious & comprehensive treatments that will not just yield high success rates and quick recovery, but also reduce the possible complications that arise due to untreated feminine problems.
