Abu Dhabi Witnesses Construction Of 3,566 Buildings In 2018











Abu Dhabi reinforced its urban development in 2018, to meet the requirements of population growth and enhance the process of sustainable development witnessed by its economic, services and social sectors.

In 2018, Abu Dhabi witnessed the construction of 3,566 buildings, a monthly average of 297.1 and a daily average of 9.7, according to the Abu Dhabi Statistics Centre.

Al Ain region occupied the first place in terms of the number of buildings that were constructed in the emirate, amounting to 1,844 while Abu Dhabi region witnessed the construction of 1,576 buildings and 146 buildings in Al Dhafra.

This number of completed buildings in just one year reflects the strength of Abu Dhabi's construction sector and is an indicator of market demand and private investments in the emirate.

Abu Dhabi also strengthened its leadership in urban and sustainable development and attracted key experts and specialists from around the world in the areas of urban planning and sustainable urban development, to benefit from their expertise and create a sustainable urban environment, according to the best international practices.

Abu Dhabi is getting ready to host the 10th United Nations World Urban Forum 2020, which recognises its urban development over the past five decades.
