Talented Artistic Youth Are Welcomed On ’Nashwa’ This Week

Throughout the Arab world are young, talented artists who have worked hard to put forth a new, non-traditional outlook on art in the region. ‘Nashwa’ returns this week after a month-long Ramadan hiatus and welcomes a broad range of talented youth with unique talents.

‘Nashwa’ is aired on Dubai TV every Monday at 22:30 and repeated every Saturday at 18:00.

Nashwa Al Ruwaini welcomes the Gulf music group, Red Coast, who rap about a range of problems the youth face in the Arab world today, and comedy duo Mohammed and Duaa whose humorous and comedic pieces reflect marital problems and misunderstandings.

Palestinian singer Shaimaa Mansour talks of how she chose to discuss the Palestinian cause through song, singing in a cross between Western rap and Eastern music. Shaimaa is hoping her music will appeal to foreign and young audiences and encourage them to listen to the artistic and political message within the songs.

Nashwa also welcomes a young man, named Islam, who imitates the voices of popular actors and actresses and is able to sing in the voices of popular Arabic singers Asala and Samira Saeed and can act like famous actresses Sharihan and Nadia Al Jundi.

The show concludes by welcoming the artist Nasma Abdelaziz who turned the Maramba into a popular instrument in the Arab world and in several other countries in the world after her many concerts.
