"The exhibition is an important means to build bridges between the past and present and introduce our inherent Arab customs to the young generation," Mazrouei said.

Manal Raba highlighted the many competitions held on the sidelines of the exhibition, including Saluqi Beauty Contests and the preparation of coffee the traditional Arabic way besides hunting and equestrian competitions.

"As an Arab expatriate living in the UAE, I am interested in finding out about the most prominent cultural and civil traditions of the UAE society," said Raba.

"The exhibition is a great opportunity for me to learn about the salient features and characteristics of this heritage," she added.

Elly Tap Hield said that what drew her attention prior to visiting the exhibition "is the outstanding performance of Britain’s Household Cavalry." However, she was more curious to know about the UAE society’s customs and cultural components as she wandered between the exhibition’s wings.
