TAQA (Abu Dhabi National Energy Company) Selects Wipro To Deliver Infrastructure Operations And Application Management Services

TAQA (Abu Dhabi National Energy Company {PJSC}), a global energy company with a growing asset base of over AED 90 billion (US$ 24.5 billion) and one of the largest companies listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) announces awarding a large 5 year contract to Wipro Limited, a leading provider of IT and business transformation services to set up a dedicated Offshore Development Centre.

TAQA’s strategic intent is to build and operate a geographically diverse global portfolio of energy businesses. To improve its focus on core competencies and to bring in efficiencies in its IT operations, TAQA will be outsourcing its Infrastructure Operations and Application Management to Wipro. As part of this engagement, Wipro would be setting up a dedicated Offshore Development Center for TAQA at Wipro’s newly developed state-of-the-art facility in Chennai, India. The offshore development center can house up to 185 concurrent resources and will scale over the next five years.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Yasser El Zein, GVP Technology (Abu Dhabi National Energy Company) said, “Wipro is TAQA’s partner of choice.
