Tickets On Sale For Pakistan VS New Zealand Cricket Series











The Abu Dhabi Cricket Club is pleased that the Pakistan Cricket Board have chosen to host their series of three One Day International events against New Zealand at the Zayed Cricket Stadium.The series will take place on the 3rd, 6th and 9th November 2009 with all matches starting at 3pm and the gates will be open to the public at 1pm.

H.E. Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, the Chairman of Emirates Cricket Board and the Abu Dhabi Cricket Club,he is a passionate follower of cricket, and this is visibly demonstrated by his attendance at all international matches played in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. His Excellency is singularly responsible for the government allocating the funding and the land to the Abu Dhabi Cricket Club for the construction of the iconic stadium. With a vision of sound corporate governance and a requirement for UAE cricket to be streamlined and structured in a manner that would ensure that cricket as a sport flourishes in the UAE, he also actively encourages the academy and youth to participate in the sport and has been pivotal in sanctioning upgrades to the Zayed Cricket Academy which now provides the regular coaching and training to some 250 students in a world class facility.

Zayed Cricket Stadium was inaugurated in 2006 with an epic match between India and Pakistan and is home to the Abu Dhabi Cricket Club. Located just 20 minutes away from the Abu Dhabi city centre and five minutes from Abu Dhabi International Airport makes it easily accessible for residents of Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Zayed Cricket Stadium has to date hosted five series and fifteen day/night One Day International matches, as well as having hosted a number of associate members such as Scotland, Ireland and Bermuda. The UK county teams have adopted the stadium as a pre-season warm up venue and have visited regularly over the last four years.

It’s an iconic structure with a south stand canopy symbolizing a half crescent moon supported by three pillars representing wickets. The stadium has a capacity of 17800 and has been recognized as a venue of international standards and one of the best, ideally structured for day/ night cricket with light towers at 69 metres providing 640000 watts equal to 2200 lux ideally suited to high definition television. It is also equipped with facilities to accommodate 100 journalists in a state of the art media centre with the highest levels of technology and an impressive viewing gallery.

The Pakistan team are very familiar with the Abu Dhabi ground having played many times in the stadium and it’s going to be New Zealand’s first visit to the UAE. Pakistan have played against New Zealand 79 times, winning 47 of these matches and losing just 30, with Pakistans’ recent defeat to New Zealand during the Champions Trophy in South Africa it guarantees three days of exciting cricket.
