This week on "Nashwa" is a discussion on the reasons for psychological problems among children and how negative experiences that children live through affect their mental health for many years in the future. The show starts off by presenting the experiences of two children who suffered under the horrific treatment by their stepmother who used to hit them violently, feed them leftovers and abuse their father in front of them. She was also unembarrassed to leave pornographic channels on the TV so they would watch. Nashwa Al Ruwaini talks to the mother of the two children, Mrs. Eman, who ran away with them to the USA and took them to psychiatrists to treat their psychological problems. Nashwa also presents the experiences of many other children who developed psychological problems because of teacher abuse. Dr. Amani Abed Al Maqsood from Egypt whose son was abused by a teacher tells of how she requested that a formal apology be posted in school to restore her son’s sense of dignity. |
