’Nashwa’ Uncovers What Goes On Behind The Closed Doors Of Women’s Student Dorms This Week

‘Nashwa’ uncovers what goes on behind the closed doors of women’s dorms and the problems that girls face living in these housing complexes. A group of girls break their silence and reveal to Nashwa what happens in these dorms and how many girls take drugs, drink alcohol and sneak men in dressed in niqab, the traditional Arabic female vail, or stuffed in suitcases.

‘Nashwa’ is aired on Dubai TV every Monday at 22:30 and repeated every Saturday at 18:00.

One girl tells of how she use to be introverted and shy in her first year of university and after the effect of her friends at the girl’s dorms, she changed and started going out at night to clubs with big groups of people.

Another girl, a supervisor of a female student residence talks of how the owner of the residence used to take photos of the girls in changing rooms as they were getting undressed without their knowledge and record their private conversations, using the photos and tapes to blackmail the girls until they agreed to take part in his nightly parties. He also used to help other girls in abusing drugs and sold it to them for less so they would be more complacent towards him.

Adding her expert analysis is Dr. Nisreen Baghdadi, a professor and expert at the National Center for Social and Criminal Research in Egypt.
