Italy-UAE Trade In Excess Of Dhs 30 Billion |

Abu Dhabi to play host more than 35 leading names in Italian interior design.Italian Luxury Interiors Italy is ranked number two among European countries in terms of trade volume with the UAE, according to Francesco Alfonsi, the UAE-based Italian Trade Commissioner. Speaking ahead on a planned exhibition of Italian interiors in Abu Dhabi next month (March 4-6 2010), he said that trade between these two countries exceeds Dhs30 billion per annum. “Italy is the leading furniture exporter and the second largest furniture manufacturer in the world, including to the UAE. “To support this hive of activity, more than 35 designers and manufacturers representing the best in Italian interior design are set to showcase Italy at a three-day interactive event in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi” he said. The exhibition is expected to attract trade buyers, design and architecture consultants and real estate professionals. Meanwhile, Marco Piva, considered by many to be a leading voice on Italian architecture, will host a seminar (March 6). Piva founded the Studiodada Associates, known among the industry as the design studio. In 1987 Piva created IDA International Design Agency, an Italian counterpart of a world-wide Design Network system. IDA created the first Italian data bank for industrial production in architecture and interior furnishing.
