TDIC’s Marina Projects Dazzle Abu Dhabi Yacht Show Visitors |

Tourism Development and Investment Company (TDIC), is showcasing its impressive marina projects during the Abu Dhabi Yacht Show held on Yas Island on February 25-27, 2010. The show is featuring TDIC’s four marinas, two of which will be located in its developments across Abu Dhabi city - specifically in the Eastern Mangroves and in Al Bateen Wharf. Saadiyat Island’s marinas - the Marina Village on Saadiyat Beach and Saadiyat Marina - were also highlighted to enthused visitors, further cementing the natural island’s reputation as a jewel for yachters with Abu Dhabi in their sights. The first marina project to be completed on Saadiyat Island, the Marina Village located in the Saadiyat Beach District, will feature an 83-berth marina offering first-class facilities for vessels between 12 and 30 metres. Retail shops, restaurants and a community centre, as well as a limited number of apartments overlooking the marina, will make it a vibrant but intimate destination. Visitors will be welcomed to the Marina Village when it opens in stages throughout 2012. TDIC is also showcasing its Saadiyat Marina District which will be the commercial heart of the island offering an energised, city lifestyle. By day, Saadiyat Marina invites visitors to sample its colourful caf s and chic boutique arcades, and by night, a glittering social scene. With berthing for more than 1,000 vessels, visitors will also be charmed by its blend of designer urban apartments, high quality commercial spaces, upscale hotels and elegant waterfront restaurants, all located on a stunning, ultramodern business bay. "Aimed at attracting tourists and visitors to a place where people from all walks of life can enjoy themselves, the marina projects on Saadiyat Island will offer world-class facilities and a cosmopolitan, waterfront holiday or lifestyle," said Lee Tabler, TDIC’s Chief Executive Officer. Also on display at the Abu Dhabi Yacht Show are TDIC’s Saadiyat Beach Villas and apartments, the cornerstone of the first phase of the exclusive Saadiyat Beach Residence community. The project will offer a range of three- to eight-bedroom luxury villas with some of the top-end components comprising their own gymnasium, elevator, swimming pool and movie theatre. Development on the residences is underway and they are expected to be handed over to residents in 2011. Furthermore, the Saadiyat Marina will also pay homage to the country’s proud heritage of dhow boating, gently echoing Abu Dhabi?s rich seafaring heritage on a spectacular natural backdrop of the Arabian Gulf. |
