Italian Design Specialist, Marco Piva To Offer A Glimpse Of The Future |

Fancesco Alfonsi, the UAE-based Italian Trade Commissioner who is behind the three-day interactive exhibition in the capital (March 4-6 2010), said: “ We have invited Piva to be a part of this event to throw the spotlight on the Italian heritage and vision in design and architecture to the UAE community.” He said that Piva is a designer with a broad spectrum of influence, across community master plans to chairs. “Piva has touched numerous high-profile projects, mixed-used buildings and residences across the globe, including the UAE. However, his design skill also penetrates interiors and he is known for named sought-after ranges from seating to floor coverings,” Alfonsi advised. Piva is the name behind the quirky balloon seat, as well as a retail rug range, known as Soft Landscapes. His Leucos and Tattoo lighting ranges can be purchased online for use in home environments. Alfonsi said that Piva founded the Studiodada Associates and created the first Italian data bank for industrial production in architecture and interior furnishing through his founding association with IDA International Design Agency, the Italian counterpart of a world-wide Design Network system.
