Aldar outlines Yas Island MICE opportunities

Aldar, Abu Dhabi’s leading property development, management and investment company, has unveiled further details of the opportunities available now, and in the coming months, at Yas Island to industry professionals at this week’s Gulf Incentive, Business Travel ’&’ Meetings Exhibition (GIBTM) held at ADNEC.

Since opening in November last year, The Yas Hotel, has already made a name for itself as a unique conference and event venue in Abu Dhabi, hosting some of the largest and most high profile events recently held in the Emirate including the Abu Dhabi Media Summit and Gourmet Abu Dhabi, as well as events for Ferrari, Deutsche Bank, Maserati and BMW.

The Yas Hotel offers a total of 1,760 squared metres of conference facilities, ranging from a 14 person boardroom, to a 500-seater ballroom and the Palm Garden overlooking the Yas Marina and Yas Marina Circuit that can cater for up to 1000. The hotel also boasts 14 restaurants and lounges including 2 large roof top venues with pools, as well as world-class health and leisure facilities.

The first true links in the region, Yas Links Abu Dhabi opened the doors to its clubhouse earlier this month, further strengthening the Emirate’s position as a major golf tourism destination. With the course itself set to open in the coming months, Yas Links Abu Dhabi is home to a state of the art academy available for joint golf clinics and team building opportunities.

Yas Links provides further meetings and event opportunities at Hickory’s, the all day dining restaurant with a terrace overlooking the Arabian Gulf and its native mangroves, Barrancas, a fine dining Mediterranean restaurant with private dining facilities, an events lawn that can cater for functions of up to 300 people and an additional meeting room for presentations within the academy.

Yas Marina, a central feature of the race circuit which recently hosted the Abu Dhabi Yacht Show, will see the completion of the Yas Yacht Club and retail centre in the coming months and will offer a range of venues to complement the Yas Island offer.

With meeting and events capacity on all floors, Yas Yacht Club will also offer space within its observation tower, featuring sensational panoramic views, and will be home to the first Stars’n’Bars restaurant outside Monte Carlo. On board catering is also available for yachts berthed in Yas Marina.

Speaking at GIBTM, Paul Bell, Managing Director of Aldar Hotels & Hospitality, commented: "GIBTM provides a fantastic opportunity to show the industry what Aldar can offer in the MICE space and beyond at this remarkable location, Yas Island. The Yas Hotel has already become a major conference and event destination in Abu Dhabi, and we expect the new facilities such as Yas Links Golf Course and Yas Yacht Club to add to our already strong offering this year."
