Glyn Sowerby claimed his second consecutive Emirates NBD World Corporate Golf Challenge title yesterday. Pairing up with Zane Linnane, for the Abu Dhabi leg of the prestigious corporate event, the two-ball team from TDIC notched up a total of 47 points, eventually just edging ahead of Mark Towers and Stephen Clews by two points on the back nine countback. “I’m absolutely thrilled, especially as we did not think we could repeat last year’s success,” said an excited Sowerby afterwards. “I really appreciated the great opportunity to play golf between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. It’s a great opportunity to meet more golfers and, judging by the success of this event, it should be held in every emirate,” he added. Caspar Rantsen was presented with the award for the longest drive while Anand Kapoor earned himself the Closest to the Pin accolade, with the golfers receiving some great prizes courtesy of Titleist. Third place with 45 points were Livio Hubar and Atique Daneshmend and in fourth was past winner Shashi Raghavan and new partner Sergy D’souza. |
