Khalifa University To Highlight Its Offerings At GETEX 2010











Khalifa University of Science, Technology and Research (KUSTAR) announced its participation in GETEX 2010, the largest education fair in the region, which is being held at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre from April 14-17 2010. KUSTAR aims from this exhibition to showcase its academic and research offerings and encourage the young population to take on higher education in science or technology.

Established by the UAE government, KUSTAR presently specializes in Engineering programs, and is open to UAE Nationals and expatriate students alike. It has a Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan postgraduate scholarship initiative, called Buhooth, which is aimed at UAE Nationals who wish to pursue their graduate studies.

The KUSTAR stand will provide visitors with information on the various academic programs that are offered by the university and the benefits that are received by the UAE National and outstanding students.

For those with technological backgrounds, the team from its Advanced educational and research network ‘ANKABUT’ will be present to shed light on the UAE’s first and only network which currently links more than 25 university and college in the UAE, including KUSTAR, UAE University, Zayed University, HCT, IAT, and EBTIC- the Etisalat and British Telecom Innovation Centre- will also be on hand to inform GETEX visitors of the innovative projects they’re working on in the UAE which promote global research, training and research.

Dr. Arif Sultan Al Hammadi, Interim President of Khalifa University commented: "We aim from our participation to equip interested students and scholars with information on our academic and research offerings. Engineering is multi-faceted and our participation at GETEX is a means to promote this lucrative field.”

“We are happy to be able to emphasize on the benefits of pursing a degree in Engineering at the exhibition. In addition, we will be organizing an Open Day at the university campus in Abu Dhabi on April 19, to welcome secondary school students and their parents who are looking for more information about our programs at the university. Our students and faculty members will also be on hand to highlight the university’s offerings,’ he added

Several KUSTAR students will act as brand ambassadors at GETEX and will be present at the institution’s stand to provide insight into its programs, as well as the overall campus life.

KUSTAR offers various undergraduate and postgraduate programs including Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Software Engineering, and Biomedical Engineering, as well as graduate programs, including Masters and PhDs in Computer Engineering, Communications Engineering, Electronics Engineering and Information Security.
