Update On Etihad Airways Flight Disruptions |

Etihad Airways has cancelled its flights to the UK and Ireland this evening and early tomorrow, due to all UK and Irish airports remaining closed following the spread of volcanic ash. Etihad Airways Chief Executive Officer, James Hogan said: “We regret the inconvenience to our customers caused by these cancellations, however we are complying fully with the UK and European authorities during these closures, and will not operate services to any area that may present a safety risk.” Mr Hogan said that due to the cancellations, until further notice, any passengers booked on an Etihad flight to the UK or Ireland from any destination on the network would not be uplifted. “We encourage our customers with travel plans to the UK or Ireland to contact their local office or the dedicated customer assistance lines we have set up. Customers can rebook flights now to the UK and Ireland for services from Monday 18 April, or those customers who choose not to travel will receive a full refund.* “Passengers who have already commenced their journey will be accommodated on other services to mainland Europe, or in hotels in Abu Dhabi.” As at 7pm local Abu Dhabi time, the following flights on the Etihad network have been affected: Cancelled: Customers in the UAE with any queries about Etihad flights can contact the airline on the toll free number, 800 550 55.
