Abu Dhabi University Knowledge Group tackles UAE medical sector needs

Group partners with Advance Medicine Group to establish training platform in medical sciences

The Abu Dhabi University Knowledge Group (ADUKG), professional training and development arm of Abu Dhabi University (ADU), is working in partnership with the UK-based Advanced Medicine Group (AMG), to develop applied research models aimed at addressing critical training requirements in the UAE medical and emergency fields.

The strategic partnership will include designing of large-scale training initiatives such as health and safety training, first responder training, and pre-hospital care training for medical professionals, paraprofessionals and professionals allied to medicine.

ADUKG and AMG, a leading international provider of clinical practice, education and training in evidence based emergency medicine, will also develop an integrated approach to disaster and emergency management and cooperation to support national initiatives in the medicine field, including joint participation in conferences and special events.

“Among the objectives of the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030 is to ensure that our national graduates have the skills and qualifications to drive economic growth through specialised education in the fields of medicine and applied sciences among others. ADUKG is involved in developing medical care in the emergency services as well as cultivating the expertise in meeting the needs of the wider community,” said Rachid Benchekroun, Acting CEO, ADUKG.

“Through our collaboration with AMG, we aim to become an authority in this field within the MENA region. Through this partnership, ADUKG and AMG will provide education and training solutions in the medical sciences and related disciplines, contributing to the social and economic development of the region,” he added.

Both groups will also cooperate on the design and growth of qualifications, national guidelines and vocational standards required in the field. A series of short courses and programmes related to medicine and emergency fields will also be delivered including creation of international linkages within the duration of the partnership.

The Institute for Vocational Development (IVD), a member of ADUKG, will offer training programmes in the field of Health and Social Care and Health and Safety. AMG is a leading international provider of clinical practice, research, education and training in evidence based emergency medicine, tele-health, and pre-hospital care, including health and safety.
