Record Number Of Papers Received For ADIPEC 2010 - Competition To Participate In Conference Hotter Than Ever Before

ADIPEC 2010 (Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Event and Conference), one of the world’s largest events for the energy industry, has received a record number of abstracts, with over 1,000 been submitted before the mid April deadline. This represents a massive 30 percent increase over 2008.

The ADIPEC conference, which is run in conjunction with the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), has received abstract submissions from here in the UAE and across the globe. The Middle East took the lion’s share, with 55 percent of submissions, with growth from a number of regions: there were 48 percent more abstracts submitted from the UAE than in 2008, 44 percent more from Saudi Arabia, and a massive 66 percent more from Oman, highlighting Oman’s growing dedication to industry research and development.

Internationally, the USA, Malaysia and Russia all significantly increased their chances of participation at this year’s ADIPEC conference, with the USA and Malaysia more than doubling entries, and Russia sporting an impressive 200 percent increase on 2008.

Hifazat Ahmad, event director of ADIPEC, said: “There has been a phenomenal interest in the ADIPEC conference this year, highlighting the push that energy companies are giving to innovative research and development and the desire to set themselves apart as industry leaders.

“What is particularly good news is that the increase in entries has been accompanied by an increase in quality, and there has been an extremely high level of detail, distinctiveness and value. The conference is definitely a must-attend event for the global energy industry.”

ADIPEC 2010 will take place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre from 1-4 November. For further information please visit www.adipec.com.
