Premiering on 22nd May at 8 pm (KSA), 9 pm (UAE), the 3-part series KNOWN UNIVERSE combines the most current scientific information, cutting-edge computer graphics, dramatic time-lapse sequences and everyday examples to shed light on some of the most mind-boggling aspects of our universe. The series covers everything from size of our solar system to the most powerful explosions and the dynamic relationship among speed, time, distance and gravity. KNOWN UNIVERSE also takes an inside look at some of the world’s biggest particle accelerators, fastest rockets and most powerful telescopes to see how science is put to the test in and out of the lab. On the momentous occasion, the channel will be celebrating the achievements of His Royal Highness (HRH) Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud as the first Arab, first Muslim, and first member of royalty to travel into space, by screening an exclusive interview with him alongside the airing of the 3 episodes. Short clippings from the interview from HRH Prince Sultan’s interview will also be aired throughout the three-week period of Space Month, reaching out to almost 50 million households in the Middle East and North Africa region through the Arabic, free-to-air factual entertainment channel. During the interview, viewers can hear about the preparation, planning and training that HRH Prince Sultan undertook, as well as his experiences in outer space, including the challenges he faced and memorable incidents during the actual record-setting voyage. HRH Prince Sultan will also talk about his distinguished career and how he came to be interested in astronomy. Furthermore, HRH Prince Sultan will share his inspirational message to the people of the region - especially those young people that are interested in a career in astronomy or science, or those that dream of achieving what seems like the unachievable.
