Organizers of the Arabian Construction Week (ACW), the region’s international construction exhibition and global summit for sustainable and innovative construction, today announced it will host Building Machinery Middle East for buyers and procurement teams that will visit the event to source construction machinery.

The trade exhibition will be organised alongside Future-Build Middle East, Green Building Middle East, and Civil Engineering Middle East over 8,000 sq metre area. In addition, two regional summits will also headline ACW 2010 that will be held from from 24-26 May at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).

Chris Hudson, Managing Director of Mecom Forums, and Partner of Clarion Events, said: “Arabian Construction Week is receiving great interest from industry leaders and professionals, and we are looking forward to making it the biggest industry event all around. Within one month, our participant list has increased by more than 33 per cent and currently stands at over 200 exhibitors. These exhibitors will be displaying their products and services that span the four vertical exhibitions.”

Building Machinery Middle East will bring together key industry brands and dealers to display cranes, excavators, heavy vehicles, machine tools, concrete, as well as waste and recycling equipment. It will also feature a live demo area for exhibitors who wish to offer trade visitors a detailed insight into their products.

Hudson added: “The Building Machinery Middle East has been organized in response to the large interest we have received from the machinery industry. Complementing the other three vertical exhibitions that will focus on sustainability, innovation and infrastructure, Building Machinery will showcase latest technologies, machinery and tools. We are also working to bring exclusive offers to all visitors.”

Shell Lubricants and the Abu Dhabi Department of Municipal Affairs are the headline sponsors of Arabian Construction Week 2010 that also has Framecad, Green Precast Systems and Technologies LLC, and Commodore Steel Industries LLC as the gold sponsors. RMD Kwikform Middle East, Doka International and Peri LLC will participate as the silver sponsors while Etihad Airways is the official airline sponsor.

Fredrick Victor, Assistant Sales Manager at Al Shirawi Enterprises LLC, said: “Following our highly successful and established presence in Dubai, we are looking very seriously at the Abu-Dhabi and Western Region projects. We have also invested in a brand new workshop and after-sales service facility in Mussafah, Abu-Dhabi that is set to open shortly. Al-Shirawi Enterprises counts our excellent after sales service as one of our core strengths and we believe the Arabian Construction Week will serve as a perfect platform to launch operations in the capital city.

“At the exhibition, we will be displaying the new range of B Series CASE crawler excavators, CASE E-Series wheel-loaders and STILL electric fork-lifts. This being the first construction equipment exhibition in Abu-Dhabi, we expect the event to help us penetrate the Abu-Dhabi market.”

The two regional summits - the Arabian World Construction Summit (AWCS) as well as the Green Building Middle East Summit - will witness international spokespersons analysing integral issues that currently face the region’s construction industry.

Organised by MECOM Forums/Clarion Events in partnership with MEED, Arabian Construction Week (ACW) will act as a pre-tender sourcing platform for the region’s existing and potential construction and infrastructure projects. It will also aim to work towards a better-built environment for the cities of today and the future.
