Edutech Implements ’Blackboard Learn Course Delivery’ At Abu Dhabi University

University embraces eLearning technology to boost student engagement and productivity

Edutech, a leading education and learning solutions company, announced the successful implementation of ‘Blackboard Learn Course Delivery’ at the Abu Dhabi University (ADU). The web-based learning solution is designed to allow students and faculty to participate in classes delivered online or use online materials and activities to complement face-to-face teaching. The University embraced the Blackboard Learn Course delivery module in order to boost student engagement and productivity through open and extended learning.

By incorporating the ‘Blackboard Learn Course Delivery’ in its curriculum, ADU can now leverage world-class systems and learning methodologies that provide students unlimited access to course materials, discussion boards, online quizzes and academic resource centre without any file type and course size restriction. Students can also connect virtually with their teachers and classmates via the ‘Enhanced Discussion Tool with an in-built grading tool that allows teachers to grade students based on online discussions. The system also boasts of other communication tools such as virtual chat, email, pop-up announcements and blogs. Furthermore, instructors can elicit greater student interest by creating customised courses that make the subject matter more appealing to them.

“Our adoption of the ‘Blackboard Learn Course Delivery’ is in line with our mission to provide our students with focused, high-quality and career-oriented undergraduate and graduate degree programs, which can mold them to become globally-competitive professionals who drive the nation’s continuous movement towards progress,” said Dr. Nabil Ibrahim, ADU Chancellor, Abu Dhabi University. “There is no doubt in the impact of technology on the lives of today’s youth, and we seek to capitalise on this fact by partnering with an expert in the deployment of cutting-edge eLearning solutions. Edutech’s extensive experience in successfully implementing similar projects for many leading universities in the region ensured the successful completion of this initiative.”

In addition to providing unrestricted access to a large volume of information to students, the ‘Blackboard Learn Course Delivery’ can also increase efficiency among ADU’s instructors. Teachers can measure students’ knowledge retention through assessment and feedback tools, while allowing them to save time in preparing their lesson plans. Better organisation and security can also be achieved through the availability of folders and learning modules for content, and a grade book that allows students to see only their own grades.

“We are very excited to work closely with Abu Dhabi University in this project. We are sure that the solution will bring about significant and positive changes in the way technology is used to enhance the learning and teaching experience in the campus. We are confident that this undertaking will be another addition to our list of successful Blackboard implementations for top academic institutions across the region,” concluded ASF Karim, CEO, Edutech.

Leveraging its domain, technology and execution experience, Edutech is focused on facilitating skills enhancement and knowledge enrichment through its portfolio of 21st century solutions to address educational institutions’ present requirements while leaving them the option to scale up for the future. In addition to the Abu Dhabi University, the company has completed implementations within other prestigious institutions in the region.
