Mr Ivor Prestwood Joins Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi As General Manager |

British born Ivor Prestwood, has recently moved to Abu Dhabi to take up the position of General Manager at Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi. Prestwood brings to his role a wealth of experience in the industry and the region with an outstanding track record. With over 38 years of global experience within the Hotel Industry and 31 years within the Intercontinental Hotels Group structure, Prestwood is well equipped to join the dynamic Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi team. Previously General Manager at Crowne Plaza Bahrain for 2 years and prior to that, Hotel Manager at Crowne Plaza Dubai, Prestwood leaves a trail of highly successful restaurants and hotels behind him. Prestwood started his career in the kitchen, where his natural ability for dealing with both customers and staff was clearly apparent Prestwood’s talent was quickly progressed through the management chain. Prestwood’s passions are food and travel but most importantly, being with interesting people and his aim is to be more engaged in supporting and taking actions toward Environmental issues. “I believe that I have a responsibility (as a personal interest but also because of my professional status) to lead changes & educate others who may have a different culture or understanding on the subject”. Prestwood’s experience is reinforced with a strong Hotelier educational background, including numerous eCornell Leadership and Strategy qualifications, which will prove highly advantageous throughout his current tenure at Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi. Whilst Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi has seen many exciting new developments, including the opening of two highly successful restaurants (Cho Gao and Spaccanapoli) early 2010, the Hotel is continuing to move forward with further exciting renovations to the Hotel’s reception area and rooms. Prestwood is looking forward to managing and leading the Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi team to many more prominent successes in the near future. |
