ECSSR Organises Education Conference In October |

Under the auspices of H.H. General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and President of the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research (ECSSR), the ECSSR will organize its First Annual Conference on Education, under the title: "Education in the UAE: Current Status and Future Development" from October 5-6, 2010, at the Center in Abu Dhabi. The conference will address: the strategies and policies of education in the UAE, the challenges facing school and university education, and quality criteria as represented by educational curricula and education staff. The two-day conference will also deal with general decline in the use of Arabic language, as well as the weak supervision at lower stages of education and paucity of specialization in higher education. The conference will conclude its proceedings with a discussion on the ways to bridge gaps and draw a future vision for development of education in the United Arab Emirates. Dr. Jamal Al Suweidi, Director of the ECSSR, underlined the great attention lent by the UAE wise leadership to development and modernisation of education out of its firm determination to accelerate wheels of sustainable development. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, will give the opening address while Education Minister Humaid Al Qattami will deliver the keynote address in the conference. |
