The Men Behind The Lighthouses Of Peace© Monuments Condemn The Alarming Increase Of Islamophobia Around The World, Emphasize Its Dangers And Suggest A Way To Stop It |

In a recent interview, Roger Melka co-Conceptor of the Lighthouses of Peace© was asked about Islamophobia. Roger replied that,” Islamophobia is increasing at an alarming pace, especially within the last few months”, adding, “Left unchecked, it might result in serious feuds around the World, leading to violent confrontations. Roger added that the Organization of the Islamic Countries (“OIC”), well aware of this danger, has within its last 11th Session of its Summit Conference adopted 13 Resolutions on that crucial subject while setting goals and targets to be revisited during the next session scheduled for Early Spring 2011. Numerous heads of states have also emphasized this danger, more particularly Mr. Barack Obama, on a special speech dedicated to that subject on September 11th 2010. “The Lighthouses of Peace Project”, added Roger is the latest private program aimed towards eliminating Islamophobia”. Roger went on explaining the objectives and goals of this Peace Project; consisting of erecting around the World a network of Lighthouses, the brightest and tallest Monuments to Peace, ever; even taller than the Eiffel Tower, all in stained-glass”. “Aimed at declaring the peaceful nature of Islam symbolizing the Reconciliation and a Promise of a Peaceful co-existence” Roger said. Roger added, “As a Covenant of Peace, each Lighthouse, shall by its mere presence, proclaims Islam’s Commitment to Peace”. Jacques co-Conceptor and Designer of the Project added, “like the rainbow evokes the divine promise of no more floods, the sight of each Monument of Lights, shall likewise remind the World that Islam has committed itself to Reconciliation and to a Peaceful co-Existence”. Asked whose interests shall these Monuments of Peace better serve? Roger replied,” It is difficult to ascertain the exact share of each winner”. “On the one hand”, he said, “The Islamic World shall take pride in presenting the World’s most unique Monuments glorifying the Almighty, while expressing at the same time its firm Commitment to Peace and Tolerance. On the other hand, the entire World often referred to as the silent majority will also be the ultimate winner, by securing Safety, Peace and Hope for all”. After pondering a few more seconds Roger said, “Yes everybody shall benefit equally”, adding that,” Everybody wins”. Roger added, “Peace has neither nationality nor religion; it’s everybody’s business. “All we want” he added, “Is to secure to our grandchildren and future generations the same quality of life we enjoyed when the World was a safer place for all”, adding, “Somebody has to do it. Many people, unaware of the dangers seem more interested in having fun or planning money making Project … We prefer Peace and Hope”. Jacques went on explaining, “Having spent our best years in the Stained Glass World, we developed a unique technique and know-how allowing not only the construction of conventional giant Stained-Glass Windows and Domes, so popular in today’s and yesteryears’ World’s Monuments and Buildings, but the ability to erect, for the first time, self supported tall structures, all in structural stained Glass of all colors, sizes and designs.” Asked if he has been encouraged by the reactions to the Project to date, Roger replied, “Yes but a lot more is still needed before the first Lighthouse of Peace, is erected in its first strategic location” adding, “In the meantime we welcome all endorsements and support we can get from the World’s Leaders, the rich and famous as well as all Peace makers around the Word for the implementation of this noble cause of Reconciliation, Peace and Hope”.
